dakota

From the outside it looked like the kind of building home to dental offices or some other kind of office wherein exacting measures were taken against decay. Or so I liked to think—that time spent at home would be spent cleansing, filling, improving something. It was a ten-story stucco thing with a short walk up to a glass door that opened automatically, as if the building could see you, or sense you, and didn't want you to touch it. - Ottessa Moshfegh "Dakota" from Sleepingfish 8
