Human placenta

It could be because I'm on the brink of fatherhood myself. But really, I'm not going to think too much about the reasons why I find this set of photos of the cooking of human placenta so interesting.

Sam Macon posted them on his blog a few days ago. Apparently his friends saved the placenta after their baby was born and recently cooked it up to be ground and placed in capsules.

Trust me, I've heard all about the health benefits for the mother when she does this. And we've talked about it, with no conclusion. Yes, we're those kinds of people.

Though we have joked a lot about keeping it and making plajitas - placenta fajitas - with it.

Time will tell.
