Chore day means waking up to blunder with a futon mattress before your eyes are even half open. Then comes the sweeping, running the dogs, (incidentally, the situation at hand requires you to urinate in the utility sink - god, aren't you relieved this is only a story?), raking up leaves from the yard in a steady, southerly wind.

Your ears get cold without a stocking cap, but you get unbearably hot with one.

10am and lunch already can't come soon enough.
