kiisu
Meet our newest little lady, Kiisu.
Kiisu is the Estonian word for kitten. When I was in Tallinn, Leen and I would go for walks through the yards of the tenements late at night. Anytime she saw a cat, she'd yell, "KIISU"!
It's always seemed like one of the best words there is in any language.
Since then, I've always wanted to name a cat Kiisu. We've had upwards of 20 foster cats over the last three years and it hasn't really seemed to fit any of them. But this one is does.
She's a goopy-eyed bugger. She has a respiratory infection, so she coughs and sneezes. She took to me right away, rubbing her face against my hand again and again. Can't go wrong with that.
No hissy fits.

that is the best name for a kitten. and it is a cute-ass kitten. and the soundtrack for that video makes it seem like some 60s film about a free-spirited french kitten who can never be tamed.
We adopted Kiisu from Humane Milwaukee and brought her home in time for Christmas 2008. She is a very sweet and loving girl. (She still gets eye buggers in the corner of her eyes.) BTW: We kept the name. It is great to now know the back story to her moniker.
